Another great hotel, the Nevada in
Ely, has a distinctive Hollywood flair. In the days of the Midland Trail
and the early days of Route 6, movie stars would motor from Los Angeles to
Sun Valley, Idaho through Ely. In remembrance of those days, the hotel has
named its rooms after stars who stayed there. Our favorite is the Hoot
Gibson Room. (May 2003 photo)
The Hotel Nevada was opened in 1928 and was the tallest building
in the state until 1948.

has it's own walk of fame, proudly displayed in front of the Nevada Hotel.
